Installation Instructions

Download Python 3.4 32 Bit

  • Copy the pycharm-.tar.gz to the desired installation location
    (make sure you have rw permissions for that directory)
  • Unpack the pycharm-.tar.gz file to an empty directory using the following command:
    tar -xzf pycharm-.tar.gz
  • Note: A new instance MUST NOT be extracted over an existing one. The target folder must be empty.
  • Remove the pycharm-.tar.gz to save disk space (optional)
  • Run pycharm.sh from the bin subdirectory

PyCharm is now also available as a snap package. If you’re on Ubuntu 16.04 or later, you can install PyCharm from the command line:

sudo snap install [pycharm-professional|pycharm-community] --classic
