Download Canon Pixma Mp210 Software
OS: Windows 7 x64
Printer: Canon MP730
Problem: The driver for MP730 printer isn't installed via Windows Update. MP730 is connected locally.
But the driver for the scanner was installed successfully via Windows Update, and scan function worked fine.
The Canon download site does not have a driver for Win 7 x64. What is the use of an add-on module if the basic printer driver doesn't exist?
Attempted the 'Troubleshoot' option (right-click on the printer icon) and got the following sequence of outcomes:
- Install a driver for this device --> chose 'Apply this fix'
- Troubleshooting has completed --> 'Problem found: CanonMP730 doesn't have a driver'
Even though MP730 is a old model, mine's still working fine, and i see others in this community report similar issues.
It is supposed to be compatible with Win 7 though it didn't say it was limited to x32 only:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win7/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Canon%20MultiPass%20MP730%20All-in-One%20Printer&vendor=Canon&Locale=1033&ModelOrVersion=8297A002&BreadCrumbPath=canon%20MP730&Type=Hardware&tempOsid=win7
The Canon site also states that the driver is supposed to be auto updated via Windows Update for Win 7 x64:

Any advice?
